IMMO Capital Case Study
IMMO Capital’s first-ever company-wide offsite was a wild success, and we’re here to spill the tea on the event, right from the planning to the event itself (and even the pitfalls along the way!)
The Event
With a rapid growth spurt during lockdown, IMMO Capital was ready to bring the whole team together for a much-needed break from their screens. IMMO wanted a venue that could accommodate 150 people from all over the world (UK, Portugal, Spain, India, Germany, and Canada, to be exact!) and with just 7 weeks to plan, we had our work cut out.
But those who know Goho know we love a challenge! We scoured the seas (okay, fine, the internet) and reached out to our contacts to find the perfect venue. Working to a tight timeframe, and with the holiday season meaning plenty of places were fully booked, it was a tricky task. Contacting over 100 different venues, the team went above and beyond to find the perfect spot for this event, and eventually - alongside our partner Avenue Sales - we were able to secure the Ria Park Hotel. It was a venue that had it all: excellent conference facilities, spaces for all our dining needs, and was easily accessible for all of IMMO’s globetrotting team.
With the venue secured, we had just over a month to plan the rest of the event. We took care of every single aspect, from AV, to entertainment, to decorations, and we even organised local activities for the team. Each element of the event was meticulously planned: whether it was catering to dietary needs or gifting each guest a traditional cork mouse pad with IMMO Capital’s branding.
Behind the scenes
There’s no point trying to tell you that all events are plain sailing. Event planning naturally involves managing several variables at the same time, and as the expression goes if it rains it normally pours! Managing an event overseas can also add a whole new level of complexity and this event certainly didn't always run smoothly. From delegate gifts being stuck at customs, to delayed flights, to dietary mix ups - we saw it all. You might think we are mad for sharing this, but the beauty of successful event planning is being able to take all this in our stride, so that attendees have no idea what is going on behind the scenes, and have a great time!
With some bloody hard work, our ability to think on our feet helped us overcome every obstacle that came our way to deliver a highly successful event. That's one of the reasons we're proud of the work we've done, and we think it's time for us to be recognised for it.
But we're not just asking for your recognition, we're inviting you to join us on this journey. And who knows, if you like what you see, maybe you'll help us win that award by voting for us in the "Best Intermediary Agency - Small – up to 20 employees" category at the M&IT Awards ;) Learn more about our campaign (and vote) at https://lnkd.in/eGybZc5W
