Our Favourite Campaigns for Pink October

We are almost at the end of October (crazy, we know), which means we have had almost a whole month of Pink October!

This year is an extremely special month, due to the pink ribbon celebrating 30 years of service, campaigning to the world the importance of early detection, awareness and giving those who have suffered a voice.

Globally, many businesses contribute towards the efforts across the month. There have been many creative and inspiring marketing campaigns this year so we've rounded up our favourites to share with you all.

BooBe Collective - The Art Initiatve

Up first, is none other than BooBee Co collective. Cate, founder of the fundraiser, launched her campaign, 'Splat your Bap' a collective art piece initiative, to raise awareness and fundraise. The aim is to illustrate the diversity in breast health.

Those who participate in the initiative receive an art kit from Cate. They paint their bap, print it on a card, and share it with the world. It will showcase multiple breasts throughout the country. A beautiful and colourful representation of how unique bodies are.

You can donate to BooBeCo to help cover the costs of the art kits and the remaining funds will be donated to a breast cancer charity.

We were very fortunate to help Cate with the PR alongside this campaign.

Bioderma - Video campaign

Bioderma launched a global campaign to help give strong women a voice, purpose and to increase awareness about early breast cancer detection.

The video follows women from various walks of life, emphasising the importance of early detection. They use some women in STEM roles to stress the science and seriousness of the topic. They also use women in remission or who currently have breast cancer to portray familiarity and relatability to demonstrate it can be anyone who gets the disease.

Bioderma expresses there is still a deep lack of awareness and action around early detection. Their aim was to broadcast a message that hits home and forces you to check up on yourself.

You can watch the video campaign here.

Eiffel Tower Campaign

Every year since 2014, the Eiffel Tower in Paris lights up pink. It's a visual support which is accompanied by an evening of activities. This year they had a 'heroine' theme, with an influential message, "be the heroine in your life".

They gathered 30 women, to represent the 30 years of the pink ribbon who are either in remission, or currently battling breast cancer, to feature on the catwalk on Trocadéro fountains, which is in front of the Eiffel Tower. A mixture of celebrities and ordinary individuals featured.

Sparkles, bright lights and themed music were used to create a celebratory atmosphere for these strong women. A truly Instagrammable night to remember, one that generated millions of views across social media, increasing the awareness of breast cancer.

Brand Support Donations

Many brands as a part of their campaign pledge a % of sales from a particular product to breast cancer awareness charities.

Some notable ones are Clinique donating a whopping $500,000! Funds are from their jar of Moisture Surge.

KISS lashes launched their Power of Pink eyelashes and promised 10% of sales to be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Mango and their collaboration with Fero have raised over one million euros since they began their yearly pink campaign, they release a clothes collection every year donating proceeds to awareness and research.

Its empowering to see so many brands come together to support this incredible initiative every year.
