Dale Carnegie

The Client

Our client, Dale Carnegie, wanted to host an event to showcase and promote their brand and development and training programmes.  It would be for around 70 people and consist of a half day of seminars with an interactive lunch and drinks reception afterwards.

The Brief

Dale Carnegie originally contacted us in the summer wanting our help in hosting their inaugural event.  We were asked to source various venues across the Midlands: Warwickshire, Birmingham and Cheshire.  They wanted somewhere that had some added interest, somewhere like a museum or factory.

Our Approach

We always try to do things differently here at Goho, you won't find any boring meeting rooms here. We sourced some really lovely and interesting venues and the Birmingham NEC was decided upon due to its purpose built conferencing facilities and its close proximity to the National Motorcycle Museum where delegates could enjoy a tour after the seminar, making it a little bit different to other events.  We were also to assist Dale Carnegie with marketing the event for exposure and reaching out to new potential clients. We did this by writing a press release, and reaching out to publications and journalists. We liaised heavily with the venue to arrange the correct running order and agenda for the day as well as the catering requirements that would work perfectly around the structure of the event.
We arrived bright and early the day of the event ahead of everybody else to ensure the space we were using was set up as had been requested and that everything was in order.  Once our client arrived, we made some changes to the set up.  As the client had a huge step and repeat that they wished to use instead of an AV presentation, once this was set up we arranged the cabaret style tables to fit perfectly so that everybody had a good view of the staging area.  There was a lot of literature to hand out so we were hands on and efficiently got to work setting out the room as our client instructed.  We suggested the best method to display and hand out the name badges on registration based on our extensive experience with countless previous events.  We remained front facing as the guests arrived and participated in the afternoon's events in support of our clients.  A delicious hot buffet was served for lunch where good and casual conversation ensued over the yummy food.

The Results

The delegates were all very impressed with the day and what it had to offer. We secured 3 media placements for them with a combined readership of 8.65k, total audience of 35.6k and average domain authority of 26. We also booked Andrew Collings, Chief Executive of Dale Carnegie Central England to speak as a guest on the Cashflow Show podcast.   The client was extremely grateful for our experience and input in making this first event run as smoothly and as efficiently as it possibly could, and for the extra brand awareness gained from our PR efforts.
