My First Week as Account Executive
On my first day at Goho, Liv eased me into the role by giving me the tools and advice to prepare me for the work I would be undertaking. I was given information on each of the clients Goho works with and the areas I would be working on, such as creating social media content. Eager to start, I jumped straight into creating an Instagram reel about my first week in the role, making sure to film all the key parts of my day. Having only made a few reels before, I had forgotten just how much goes into the process (putting multiple videos together, choosing trending audios, adding text and creating a cover). Nevertheless, it was a really fun activity and got me back into the swing of creating social content. As this was my first piece for Goho’s account, I wanted to make sure I got the style right to avoid my reel standing out (in a bad way). So, I did my research, looked at previous reels and captions, and soon adopted the Goho style, replicating it in my reel. Success! Now that the first piece was complete, I felt even more confident in myself and ready to take on the next challenge. This blog!
Throughout the week, I met the team who were all very welcoming and happy to help me with any questions I had. Learning that Goho has such a supportive and organised team behind them made my first week not only enjoyable but a lot less daunting. The daily catch-up calls gave me a lot of valuable knowledge and my frantic note-taking has provided me with pages of useful information on a range of areas. Key tip: Always take notes in your first week because you will not remember everything you need to instantly. One thing I was told by the team in my first week is that every day is different - for someone who thrives in a changing environment, this was music to my ears. Seeing the variation of clients Goho works with excited me, knowing that one day I could be writing about furniture and the next day fashion, or something completely different like decking.
